Sam is Practice Manager for Eight Associates. Her role focuses on the financial and business management of the Practice; in line with this Sam has an overview of of all current projects and offers strategic support to the team.
Before joining Eight, Sam enjoyed a career in market and social research, working for both large blue-chip organisations and government departments. She brings to the role an understanding of working together with clients to achieve her priorities.
Sam is a mum of three and now divides her time between managing her three unruly sons and the Eight Associates team.
Charlotte previously worked with PDM Environmental Consultants, now Eight Associates, and has been involved in the Practice since its inception, She has two roles within the Practice, firstly as Marketing Manager, with a specific focus on Business Development. and secondly as Credit Control Manager.
With a background of over 10 years in Marketing she has implemented several re-branding exercises. Charlotte also organises all internal and external training, corporate events, seminars and exhibitions for Eight Associates ensuring the practice has a presence at all relevant events, recently including EcoBuild, MIPIM, 100% Design and various AJ Conferences. Charlotte is also a member of the Green Register Steering Group

Charlotte has a beautiful young daughter called Bebe, and is currently expecting her second child in early 2011, aside from this she has been designing, making and selling jewellery for over 15 years.
Jean-Pierre is our Managing Director, he is a licenced EcoHomes and Code for Sustainable Homes assessor and as such is responsible for taking schemes from planning through to certification. He also provides feasibility stage guidance, renewable energy design advice, and energy modeling.
Jean-Pierre possesses an outside view on building design and sustainability which he has applied to researching tall and mixed-use buildings in the London area. He has carried out academic research into the economics of patents and commons in the biotechnology sector. Higher education establishments attended include the University of York and the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, in line with his French/British/Japanese background.
JP is a keen amateur chef with a particular interest in French wines and cuisine and enjoys researching both subjects on a regular basis…
On achieving a BSc in Environmental Science at the University of Southampton, Emma went on to complete an MSc in Environmental Management for Business at Cranfield University. Emma is a licensed Education and Offices BREEAM Assessor and is a licensed CODE for Sustainable Homes Assessor.
Emma has broad experience of providing environmental assessments on a range of both large and small projects, with a particular focus on educational and community based developments.
She has previous experience in developing local council policy after working for the LB Barking and Dagenham, where she assisted with the Sustainability Appraisals of the Council’s Local Development Framework. Emma’s background in planning and planning policy has afforded her a keen understanding of local, regional and national planning regulations, legislation and sustainability related plans and policies. She is our key contact for Council/Local Authority, Planning and other key stakeholder liaison.
Kelly is the Accounts Manager for Eight Associates. Having come from a construction background spending over 4 years as a project administrator before moving into accounting, her experience of working within a large architectural practice has given her an in depth knowledge of how a construction project is run from inception to completion. Kelly completed the AAT qualification and became a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2007. She is now working towards her ACCA qualification.
When Kelly’s not number crunching she can be found creating masterpieces from organic wool and runs a lunchtime knitting workshop.
Ross is a licensed BREEAM Commercial (Offices, Retail and Industrial), BREEAM Other buildings, BREEAM International, BREEAM In-Use and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor.
Ross developed a passion for sustainable construction and wider sustainability issues in the final year of his undergraduate degree ‘Bsc Business in Property’ and subsequently completed a masters degree entitled; ‘Msc Theory and Practice of Sustainable Design’ at Cardiff university.
Upon completion of his postgraduate studies, Ross worked at the Building Research Establishment (BRE), contributing to BREEAM scheme updates, answering technical BREEAM queries and training prospective BREEAM Assessors.
In his spare time Ross divides his time between listening and making music, watching and playing football, relaxing and visiting pubs with friends, reading and watching anything funny and meditating at any quiet moment in-between!
Gilly graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2008 with an MA
in Sustainable Development. At university her studies focused on
understanding the term sustainable development and how sustainability
can be incorporated in to education systems.
Since university Gilly has developed a keen interest in sustainable
design and construction with a particular focus on environmental
assessments. She is an industrial, offices and retail BREEAM
assessor and has experience in the civils equivalent to BREEAM,
CEEQUAL. She enjoys the challenge of working with design teams to
excel in sustainable design and achieving excellent/outstanding ratings.
Prior to joining Eight Gilly worked for an engineering firm where she
developed a sound understanding of sustainability through a diverse
mixture of projects which involved carbon footprinting, waste and
environmental auditing and writing sustainability statement for
planning applications.
Out of work Gilly is a netball geek and on a Saturday mornings will
only ever be found on a netball court in her fluorescent orange
netball dress.
Cyril is a Code For Sustainable Homes Assessor with experience of implementing planning submissions and developing energy strategies, providing environmental and sustainability advice., he holds degrees in geography, a Postgraduate Diploma in Geography & Planning from the University of Bordeaux 3, France, and a Master’s degree in Sustainability from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
Cyril has a background in planning policy, implementing energy strategies, and modelling and developing renewable energy feasibility studies and is experienced in carbon footprinting on an international level and in the context of the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme.
Cyril is an amateur photographer who loves travelling and discovering new cultures and has spent a considerable amount of time in South-East Asia.
